DMSS Research undertakes research, evaluation,
policy analysis and training in the social care sector

Training & Consultancy

Our consultancy often involves facilitating organisational reviews, such as: a review of Children England’s representation work; our review of evaluation strategy for Freedom from Torture and our recent review of how to build a rights and equalities based organisation for research in practice.

We regularly consult service users and providers to inform strategy, for example focus groups to inform the Prevention Strategy for North Yorkshire County Council.

Our support to organisational development has included a review of Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust’s Excellence strategy and their 'best in class' approach to providing sheltered housing.

"Coram commissioned DMSS to scan the current policy and practice environment in children’s services, as part of the work to renew our organisational strategy. They provided exactly the help we needed: contributing in-depth knowledge of the sector, strong skills in working with Coram’s management team, and a well-written paper."
